Mobilizing a Network and Winning a Webby!
We are proud to announce that Reverse the Red has received a Webby Award for excellence on the Internet. The site was both the Webby People’s Voice Winner in Websites and Mobile Sites: Community and a Webby Honoree in Websites and Mobile Sites: Sustainability & Environment. This recognition was only possible because of the dedicated community that is making this conservation initiative a reality. Our extraordinary network stepped up and voted en masse — just a small example of what we can do when we work together. These awards help highlight the tremendous growth Reverse the Red has experienced since its launch, and spread the word about how it can continue to help save species!
The Webbys was established in 1996 to honor the leading sites on the Internet. This recognition is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS). Reverse the Red is extremely grateful to HHMI Tangled Bank Studios for entering the site into the competition. Winning this award will hopefully lead to many new partnerships, and a growing hope to end extinction.
As a Webby Winner, Reverse the Red is considered “the best of the Internet.” New York Times states that a Webby is “the Internet’s highest honor.” Only the top four percent of work entered into The Webby Awards have been crowned a winner, and Reverse the Red is proud to be a part of that percentage. Moving forward, the website will evolve, with more Success Stories and more ways for partners to get involved. And the Reverse The Red initiative will continue to grow; fostering collaboration and providing the tools and networking for strategic, data-driven conservation.
